Hello!

Since 2013, Franktown House Flowers has been growing cut flowers and creating bouquets for Ottawa and the Outaouais region. We’ve sold through the Wakefield General Store, Wakefield Market, Marché de l'Outaouais, Ottawa Farmers Market, Ottawa Flower Market, GoodFood4u, and partnered with many other local businesses as pick-up locations under our Bouquet subscription program including Ferme Lève-Tôt, La Confiserie, La Tortue de Wakefield, Les Fougères, End of the Line Boutique.

Franktown House Flowers helped spearhead a new generation of small-scale cut flower farms in Quebec and was the first Outaouais flower farm. Danielle also helped to raise the profile of floriculture by presenting at the Guelph Organic Conference, offering the first cut flower production course to new flower growers through UPA U+, and as a founding member of the Ottawa Flower Market.

Post pandemic, we are adding a healing component to our work with flowers. Over the years we have seen the effect of flowers on our customers and through Bouquets de joie, the volunteer community program Danielle established in collaboration with other community members and the support of Des Collines Health Foundation and Centre Wakefield La Pêche.

Our goal is to welcome visitors to our farm for their own well-being and to support the expansion of Bouquets de joie. We are working with local craft builders and a local saw mill to construct a welcoming workshop-studio space. Please visit our fundraising campaign page for more information.

Our approach to floriculture

Deeply rooted in ecological farming practices, we are mindful of supporting a healthy habitat for all creatures great and small - including pollinators and other beneficial insects, soil microorganisms, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and other wildlife.

Our flower farm is host to many domestic and migratory birds, including threatened species such as the whippoorwill, bobolink, eastern meadowlark, golden-winged warbler. We encourage the propagation of milkweed in our fields, providing habitat for Monarch butterflies which have appeared in greater and greater numbers in recent years.

Our cut flowers are grown with love and care, offering a local and seasonal option in the floral industry.
